STEFAN NIKOLOV

Stefan has spent 16 years of his life in Cuba, Spain, and Mexico. He founded Luna Azul in 2003, after working as a professional Spanish-language consultant for more than 10 years, both in Mexico and in the United States. Under his direction, Luna Azul has developed a client list that encompasses start-ups to traditional companies, operating in very diverse areas. Stefan’s crossover skills have led him to expand his professional interests to another field- since 1997 he has worked as a Film Location Manager and Film Location Scout on feature films and television series, filmed in Chicago. Stefan holds a B.A. in Latin American Studies from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and a B.A. in Film and Video from Columbia College Chicago. He is also fluent in Russian and Bulgarian. But most importantly, he can tell you where to get the best tiramisu in Chicago!

MIRIAM ÁLVAREZ

Miriam, was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she earned her B.A. and her M.A. in Physical Education. Miriam has taught introductory to advanced Spanish for more than two decades, and has worked as a Spanish translator, editor, writer of educational materials, and assessment developer for nearly 20 years. Having worked throughout several developing houses, she had the opportunity to work on an extensive number of programs and as well as having the opportunity to work directly with students. She loves spending time with her ever-expanding family and when she is not editing Spanish manuscripts, she is exploring small towns on the Northern coast of Spain and around the world.
